Nutrition
Our Ceremonial Matcha Powder, premium top grade, comes from the beautiful mountains of the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan, and is made from first-flush tea leaves (the year's first harvest of young, tender leaves that has the most nutrients and antioxidants). First-flush tea leaves are the finest with 3 times higher amounts of L-theanine amino acid as compared to second-flush tea leaves which are harvested later. L-Theanine helps to relax the mind, reduce anxiety and stress. Combined with the natural caffeine content in matcha, L-Theanine induces a calmer, yet more alert, state of mind without the crash and jitters of caffeine. First-flush Ceremonial Matcha tastes good with very little bitterness, and it is the most nutrient-dense as compared to other lower-grade Matchas. Matcha also contains chlorophyll which helps in detoxification. Additionally, Matcha tea also provides substantial quantities of potassium, vitamin A & C, iron, protein and calcium!
Our Ceremonial-Grade Matcha Is Suitable For
All age groups including elderly people. Children above 12 months old. Pregnant women. Diabetics. Cancer patients. Busy professionals with stressful lifestyles or who need better mental clarity/focus. As an alternative drink to coffee.
Story of Matcha
In the 12th century, Japanese monk Eisai introduced matcha tea to Japan from China, believing in its medicinal benefits. He promoted matcha to Zen Buddhist monks, leading to its incorporation into the traditional tea ceremony. This ceremony is a formalized meditation practice that takes hours to complete, promoting peace and tranquility among participants.
Getting The Real Matcha Deal
Not all Matcha teas are the same. Ceremonial-grade Matcha, the highest quality, is rare to find and primarily used in Japanese tea ceremonies. It boasts subtle "Umami"(plant sweetness) tones and minimal bitterness, making it enjoyable without added sweeteners or dairy.
Certified organic matcha powders may lack the vibrant green hue of non-organic counterparts due to the use of organic fertilizers during shade growth. While organic fertilizers provide nutrients at a slower rate, resulting in slight flavor and color variations, the trade-off for purity is worthwhile, avoiding chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Chemical pesticides not only harm the environment, they carry health risks too according to research.
Nature's Superfoods Matcha Powder undergoes rigorous lab testing for contaminants like heavy metals and radiation, ensuring a product you can trust for its quality and purity.
